FANS AND AUTOMATED LIVESTOCK
VENTILATION SYSTEMS

At TK ENERGIA we manufacture, install and automate ventilation systems for livestock farms.

The systems are based on Polish TK HELI horizontal fans and control cabinets.

HELI’s TK fans are designed for ventilation and cooling of livestock buildings.

The fan blades move the air downwards and mix it throughout the barn. This creates an ideal microclimate for the animals to thrive in, with tangible benefits for the farmer.

Function and advantages of HELI TK fans

HVLS or High Volume Low Speed stands for high efficiency at low speed. The operation of the TK HELI fan is based on the low speed rotation of the propellers and low power consumption.

TK HELI fans are installed in buildings with large volumes.

Correctly selected and installed, they reduce the perceived temperature by approximately 7-11 degrees Celsius.

TK HELI fans reduce the occurrence of heat stress in animals by providing:

  • a dry environment for the animals:

– dry bedding (less susceptibility to udder disease), choroby wymion),
dry floors (fewer slips and hoof injuries)

  • constant air exchange, no draughts, homogeneous microclimate

less disease pressure
– fewer insects
– reduction of odours
– better calving
– longer cow lifespan (more lactation periods),

In addition, they improve human comfort.

TK Heli fans start up and pump huge volumes of air, improving air quality and creating the right microclimate throughout the house. Their operation is based on the rotation of low speed propellers and low power consumption. The motor blades move the air downwards and mix it throughout the house, creating the ideal microclimate for breeding.

Key features of TK HELI fans

Design of HELI TK fans

  1. Main core – supporting element for motor and blades

  2. Motor – the 'heart’ of the fan, a motor with inverter

  3. Blades/propellers with winglets – blades made of ultra-light and strong aluminium, pumping large volumes of air

  4. Winglets – made of lightweight plastic, increasing the fan’s efficiency and reducing the fan’s noise level.

  5. Safety cords – elements that provide additional protection in the event of a malfunction; they also keep the fan stable

  6. Ceiling brackets – fan mounting elements

  7. Steel profile – mounting element that separates the main core from the ceiling

Efficiency of HELI TK fans

HELI’s TK fans are designed to ventilate livestock buildings effectively and safely. Polish and European engineers have ensured that the fans do not overload roof structures and have researched how the air should be distributed so that the fans ventilate the facilities as efficiently as possible.

The figure shows the pressure distribution around the fan profile. The blue area in the middle of the top of the profile indicates the correct location of the negative pressure (over the entire top), while the yellow area at the bottom indicates the location of the positive pressure.

The figure shows the velocity distributions across the model section. It can be seen that there is a concentration of velocity at the end of the blade, due to an increase in circumferential velocity as the blade moves away from the rotor axis. This is a normal phenomenon for a blade with a constant profile along its length.

Automation of the ventilation process

We manufacture control cabinets for HELI’s TK fans, which enable full automation of the fan control process. The control cabinets are responsible for the entire ventilation process, from switching on the fans to monitoring the set parameters and switching off the system.

Automation makes work easier and more efficient on farms and ranches, saving valuable time and money.

The control cabinets are adapted to the customer’s needs, the facility where the ventilation system is to be installed and the equipment to be included in the system.
